Our Favorite Vegan Products
When it comes to sustainability, there are several things to consider—and the most important is the materials or ingredients the product is made with. For many, the first question will be: is this product vegan? Fortunately, the world of sustainable luxury is becoming increasingly aware that plant-based products are better alternatives to animal-based products. And, as a sustainable dental care brand, we also decided to go 100% plant based and vegan in our entire product line.
Most of you are very aware that Terra & Co.’s Brilliant Black Toothpaste is vegan and we know that we have a large “vegan” community that follows us and uses our toothpaste. Today, we wanted to highlight a few vegan products that we personally love and thought you would too.
The first thing on our list is Tata Harper’s Regenerating Face Wash. While Tata Harper is 100% all natural, not all of her products are vegan. Some of her moisturizers and makeup have beeswax in them. However, her cleansers are vegan-friendly. If you haven’t tried Tata’s Regenerating Cleanser, you need to. It is a mild exfoliator, yet safe enough to use every day. A little secret, pair this cleanser with Tata’s Resurfacing Mask (which is also vegan). Put the cleanser on dry skin and apply a layer of the Resurfacing Mask on top of the cleanser. Leave it on for 5-10 minutes. Rinse off and your skin will be glowing! https://www.tataharperskincare.com/regenerating-cleanser-125ml
Burt’s Bees Baby Bee Bubble Bath. Amra uses it for her three-year old daughter. You wouldn’t think Burt’s Bees products were vegan, but Baby Bee Bubble Bath is. It is also SLS-free, no phthalates, parabens or petroleum. Their website states that it is pediatrician-tested and hypo-allergenic. https://www.burtsbeesbaby.com/burt-s-bees-baby-bubble-bath-bb10014
Uma Oil Perfectly Pure Soothing Baby Oil. Uma’s Baby Oil has rose, sandalwood, tea tree oil, geranium, mandarin oil, hempseed, avocado and pomegranate oils as well as lavender and chamomile. This oil moisturizes as well as soothes and calms. It is great for any age. Uma Oils are 100% organic and free from synthetic fragrances, preservatives, parabens, GMO’s and mineral oils. They also are NEVER test on animals, which is very important to us! https://www.umaoils.com/product/perfectly-pure-soothing-baby-oils/
Hourglass Cosmetics Vanish Foundation Stick. This foundation stick is incredible! It is light-weight, yet buildable, with great coverage that lasts all day! It acts as a concealer and foundation in one and comes in a wide variety of shades. While not all Hourglass Cosmetics are vegan, the vanish foundation stick is. All Hourglass Cosmetics are free of parabens, fragrances, gluten, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic dyes, GMOs and are not tested on animals. Hourglass announced in November 2017 that by 2020, all of their products will be vegan. https://www.hourglasscosmetics.com/vanish-seamless-finish-foundation-stick
Ilia Beauty’s Cucumber Water Stick, Illuminators & Multi-sticks. Can you say obsessed? Ilia’s Cucumber Water Stick is to die for. It can be used as a toner or just for a boost of hydration. It not only hydrates and soothes (great anti-inflammatory properties), but it also helps stimulate collagen production and who doesn’t want that? Ilia’s Illuminators and Multi-sticks are also gorgeous! I’m personally obsessed with the Illuminator in Polka Dots & Moonbeams and the Multi-stick in Tenderly. All of these products go on very smooth and have a luxurious texture. All Ilia products are formulated without parabens, phthalates, sulfates, petrochemicals, mineral oil, nanoparticles, EDTA, DEA. They are also gluten and cruelty-free. https://iliabeauty.com
Halo Holistic Garden of Vegan Dog Food. Yes, you heard me…vegan dog food. What do you do when your dog seems to be allergic to everything? You make it vegan! I had never heard of such a thing, until I dog sat for Azra’s (Terra & Co.’s Creative Director) dog Bella. Apparently, Bella was having some skin and digestive issues, so Azra switched her to Halo’s Holistic Garden of Vegan Dog Food. Bella loves this food and is now doing great! This dog food is made with chickpeas, non-GMO vegetables & fruits, nourishing oils, and added vitamins and minerals. It provides a nutritionally balanced diet for your best friend! The plant-based protein in this dog food comes from whole grains, green peas, and chickpeas. https://halopets.com/collections/vegan
Amazing Grass Protein Powder. Amazing Grass has several different flavors of protein powder: original, chocolate, vanilla, chocolate peanut butter, smooth chocolate and simply vanilla. We love this protein powder because there isn’t any chalky residue or off-putting texture and besides getting your protein (plant-based), you are also getting a healthy dose of superfoods. Amazing Grass mixes in green superfoods with their protein powder (hence the name). The result is a delicious and healthy plant-based powder. All of Amazing Grass products are USDA Organic, Gluten-Free, Non-GMO & Vegan. Check them out here: https://www.amazinggrass.com/store/
Trader Joe Veggie Burgers – There are so many veggie burgers out there, but we found Trader Joe’s Veggie Burger to be rich in flavor and crispy in texture. They are full of great, plant-based protein and do not have any added sugar. Add some fresh avocado, lettuce and veggie mayo and you have yourself a delicious, meatless burger! https://www.traderjoes.com/fearless-flyer/article/4032
