Will glycerin prevent tooth remineralization?
Glycerin plays a crucial role in the toothpaste formula at Terra & Co. It's highly soluble by saliva even if is left on your teeth. As a committed vegan brand, we prioritize using plant-based glycerin to keep our toothpaste moist and effective, with the added benefit of binding our premium hydroxyapatite powder. Extensive research over the years has shown that toothpaste containing glycerin, hydroxyapatite, or even fluoride will contribute to enamel remineralization. Read studies here, here, and here.
What is the % of Hydroxyapatite in your toothpaste?
At Terra & Co., we take pride in our commitment to transparency. We use a significant 8%-10% concentration of vegan hydroxyapatite in our toothpaste formulation, a key ingredient that promotes enamel health. We believe that consumers deserve complete clarity about the components of their oral care products, and we're dedicated to providing that transparency by showcasing the high-quality ingredients that go into our hydroxyapatite toothpaste for peace of mind and trust in our brand.
Tell us more about the Hydroxyapatite used in your toothpaste and oil?
We'd love too! Terra & Co. uses natural calcium carbonate deposits from mineral origin extracted from quarries in France. Our Hydroxyapatite toothpaste is functionalized to have a calcium carbonate core and Hydroxyapatite shell to improve its efficacy. Our products are both manufactured in the USA and PETA certified vegan and cruelty-free!
Is there vegan Hydroxyapatite?
Yes! While our competitors use animal-based hydroxyapatite made from egg shells, crab shells, or milk, our hydroxyapatite is vegan! We import it from France, where it's extracted from quarries. This assures that our products only use unique, high-quality natural hydroxyapatite and minerals.
Did you change the formula in your Brilliant Black Toothpaste?
Yes we did! Why? Because of your invaluable feedback. We wanted to take our paste to the next level by adding biocompatible and non-toxic superhero Hydroxyapatite. This 'fluoride-alternative' mineral aids with sensitivity, tooth remineralization and protects enamel while whitening teeth naturally.

What does the date on the bottom of your oil pulling bottle and top of your toothpaste tube represent?
The dates indicated on our oil pulling bottles and toothpaste tubes indicate the Mfg. date of when the product was filled. Made in small batches, our products will always arrive fresh and have a shelf life of 24-months.

Why do you use activated charcoal?
How are your toothpaste tubes sustainable?
Our toothpaste tubes are made out of sugar cane. Sugar cane tubes are 100% recyclable and can be made into new tubes. Just rinse with water and put it into your recycling bin. Sugar cane tubes are made out of sugar industry waste and use 70% less fossil fuels than traditional petroleum-based plastic and promote a low carbon footprint.
Where are your natural oral care products made?
Brilliant Black Oil Pulling, Brilliant Black Toothpaste and Gentle Green Oil Pulling are proudly made in the USA. Our Brilliant Black Toothbrush, Brilliant Black Dental Floss, Gentle Green Tongue Scraper, Gentle Green Toothbrush, Gentle Green Toothpaste Tabs, and Gentle Green Mouthwash Tabs are made in China. All products follow FDA guidelines.
Are your products tested on animals?
Never! None of our natural oral care products are ever tested on animals.
Are Terra&Co. products safe for kids?
All of our products are safe for kids. Safe if swallowed, but we recommend you spit it out after brushing. For kids under 2 years old consult with your dentist.
Is Terra&Co. safe for pets?
Our products are made with safe ingredients like xylitol; derived from birch that could be poisonous for dogs. We don't recommend using dental care items made for humans on animals.
Is Brilliant Black Toothpaste safe for every-day use?
Our toothpaste is third-party lab tested for low abrasion (RDA 103.37+- 2.47, REA 4.64 +- 0.17) and is safe to use twice a day every day.
What is your sustainability bag made out of?
Our toiletry bag is made out of RPET. Made from recycled polyesters, recycled plastics, and cotton. Fabricating RPET requires 90% less water than other fabrics and has a 50% lower carbon footprint than organic cotton, dramatically decreasing a negative environmental impact.
What are your toothbrushes made out of?
Our Briliiant Black Toothbrush handle is made out of bamboo with medium-to-soft BPA-free bristles charged with activated charcoal. Our Gentle Green Toothbrushes are made out of biodegradable wheat straw, corn hush, and corn starch with medium-to-soft BPA-free bristles.
How do I discard my dental floss packaging?
Once enjoyed, our recycled paper dental floss box and it's interior contents are 100% recyclable. Simply remove the metal floss cutter and discard into your designated recycling bins.
Why does some of your packaging have plastic?
It’s true! While we’re aiming for plastic-free perfection, we’re just not quite there yet! The packaging industry as a whole isn’t either and so some of the products do have plastic components like stoppers, liners, and or seals. As a company we continue to learn, research, and study ways where we can improve, and are hopeful to achieve our idea of “eco-perfection” in the not-too-distant future. How do I recycle my Terra&Co. when finished?
Great question! Most of our natural oral care products are readily recyclable curbside; meaning our recycled FSC certified paper packaging is unlined/non-coated, metal components, and or glass bottles can all be tossed into your designated recycling bins. What does a green shipping process mean?
One of the best ways to reduce waste is to use recyclable materials. At Terra & Co. we use recycled materials and when able ship plastic-free. Please reuse or recycle our boxes.
Do you offer free shipping?
We offer free shipping on all orders over $45.
Do you ship to Alaska and Hawaii?
Yes, per domestic shipping regulations.
Do you ship internationally?
Not yet! We hope to have this option very soon!
Where is my order shipped and how long it will take to arrive?
